PACE is great! We had just bought our house and knew the air conditioning unit was around 15-20 years old. Not too long after moving in some bad smells started coming from it and surely enough it started failing. We found a contractor online who had good reviews and he advised that we replace the unit.
My husband and I are both retired with so-so credit and this was not long after we had signed for our new mortgage. We were approved that same day. We were able to finance the new air conditioning unit and also decided to upgrade the old FPE solar panels.
We now have a smaller air conditioner that works twice as efficiently. Additionally, the old FPE panels have been upgraded with more efficient ones and we even replaced our lights with UV bulbs that cut down dust and mold. If it wasn’t for the PACE program we would have had to wait to make these much needed upgrades to our home that made it safer, more comfortable, and efficient.
